Employer Resources
Our toolkit is an introduction to finding, hiring, and integrating immigrants into the workplace in the South Okanagan Similkameen. The Resource component’s focus is to connect employers to the numerous resources readily available to them on the internet. We have chosen some and organized them according to specific information they provide. We have also provided links to programs and services that assist employers with credential recognition, funding for training and upgrading, subsidy programs, etc.

Immigrant Employer Resources:
SOICS also works with immigrant business owners to help make them aware of Canadian laws and employment standards regulations. As a result we have created the Employer Handbook for Tree Fruit Growers.
Employers Handbook for Tree Fruit Growers: This handbook provides information on the laws and regulations that govern farmers and employers. If you are new to Canada you may not be aware of the norms and expectations of how an employer should operate and behave. This handbook will help you understand you roles and responsibilities so that your can be a successful farmer and an excellent employer. (English, Punjabi)
