Mission Statement:

South Okanagan Immigrant and Community Services (SOICS) is dedicated to building a community based on mutual respect and full participation of all people of all backgrounds through education, advocacy, and community programs.

SOICS is a registered non-profit agency that offers a variety services and programs to immigrants in order to assist in their settlement and integration.

SOICS was established as the Penticton and District Multicultural Society (PDMS) in 1976 and operated as a multicultural society involved in community and cultural events. In 2007 the agency expanded our services and changed our name as a reflection of services and programs we now offer.

We offer the following programs to immigrants and live in caregivers:

  1. Settlement Services
  2. Employment Services
  3. English Language Services for Adults (ELSA)
  4. Community Bridging Services
  5. Settlement Worker in Schools (SWIS) 
  6. Learning and Technology Centre
